Support University Parks

The University supports the general upkeep of the Parks, but there are many projects we cannot undertake without generous support.

While the grounds are free of charge to explore, both one-off and regular donations help make the Parks an even more beautiful place to visit and will help increase their resilience over the decades to come.

Projects your gift would help support include:

Responding to a changing climate

University Parks is home to a wonderful collection of rare and interesting trees, with many of them found in very few other places in Britain.

But some are approaching the end of their natural lives, and many more will probably struggle to cope with the hotter, dryer summers that climate change is already bringing. A planting and replacement programme will ensure the Parks will have magnificent trees for a long time to come.

Protecting local wildlife

Making the Parks a more inviting place for wildlife is a priority. Activities range from creating new wildflower meadows and other natural habitats to installing bat boxes, protecting our badger sett and renovating the pond.

Restoring our gardens

Locations across University Parks will benefit from redevelopment. They include creating a beautiful new border near the Keble Gate and restoring the Genetic Garden to its original vision of an open-air teaching facility that uses horticulture to communicate the science of plant growth, breeding and plant genetics.

The support of those who love the Parks is hugely appreciated. It helps ensure we pass this unique place on to the next generation in the best possible condition. Thank you.
