Opening times

University Parks and Mesopotamia Walk are open daily from 07:45. 

Daily closing times are dependent on the hour of sunset and vary throughout the year (please see the table below). The Mesopotamia Walk closes 30 minutes earlier than the Parks. 

In the unlikely event that you find yourself in the Parks after the gates are locked, the University’s 24-hour Security Services team will be able to assist you. Call 01865 272944 from a mobile phone or use the emergency telephone located in a grey box next to the front door of South Lodge. After picking up the handset, press 4 to speak directly with the Security team.

On rare occasions, University Parks, or some sections of it, are closed to the public. Please note, Mesopotamia Walk and Rainbow Bridge may close at short notice during periods of heavy rain or rising river levels.

To keep everyone safe, these routes are monitored closely and may be temporarily closed when flooding occurs. As conditions can change quickly, closures sometimes happen with little or no advance warning.  While we do our best to keep users informed, signage cannot always be placed at the start of the route.

If you are planning a journey during or after wet weather, please use alternative routes. This will help you avoid unexpected delays or the need to turn back.

• The Parks and Mesopotamia are CLOSED to all users on Christmas Eve 24 December.
• The cycle track from South Lodge to Marston End is CLOSED on 1 January and 25 December.
