Oxford Theatre Guild return to the idyllic University Parks with their modern take on Shakespeare’s celebrated play All’s Well That Ends Well.
Set against the backdrop of 1930s bohemian France, and featuring a soundtrack inspired by Django Reinhardt, this production offers a contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare’s story, focusing on a woman’s determined pursuit of love against seemingly insurmountable odds.
The play centres on Helen, who is deeply in love with Bertram. Despite her affections, Bertram rejects her and flees to war with his unscrupulous companion, Parolles. Undeterred, Helen resolutely follows them, determined not to abandon her hope of marrying the man she loves.
Renowned for its exploration of love, trust and morality, All’s Well That Ends Well offers timeless insight into navigating the complexities of relationships and personal conduct.
