Charity events in University Parks raise record-breaking £2m in 2025

This year’s charity events in the Parks have once again exceeded all previous years, raising record-breaking amounts for a range of worthy causes.

The park saw no damage and only minimal wear and tear throughout the season, and feedback from participants, stakeholders, and event organisers has been overwhelmingly positive.

Highlights have included:

  • Race for Life (Cancer Research) – raised over £200,000 with 675 participants in the 10K and 1,380 participants in the 5K.
  • Town and Gown (Muscular Dystrophy) – raised over £300,000 with 5,133 runners in the 10K and 535 junior runners.
  • Oxford Half Marathon (multiple charities) – raised an impressive £1.5 million with 13,000 runners taking part.

Our smaller events also enjoyed great success, contributing to another great year of fundraising, student and departmental events and community involvement. We were even featured in a BBC News article, highlighting these events' positive impact on the local community.
