The Tempest

Stormy sky with 'The Tempest' text and Oxford Theatre Guild logo

Be not afeard. The isle is full of noises…

Prospera, Duchess of Milan, has been betrayed and cast adrift along with her young daughter Miranda. Washed up on an island they live among its spirits, and Prospera’s power grows ever stronger – until a fateful tempest brings her enemies within her reach.

Will Prospera exact terrible revenge? What will she do with the prince who has stolen Miranda’s heart? Can love conquer treachery, or will a pair of drunken fools ruin all her plans?

Co-directed by Martha Gray and renowned Shakespearean voice coach Michael Corbidge, and rehearsed using Corbidge’s innovative Elemental Shakespeare technique, this brave and imaginative production is not to be missed.

Please note: this is an outdoor performance, so please dress warmly and bring rainwear. Chairs with backsrests are provided and blankets are available to hire. Refreshments will also be for sale on site.
