Join the Oxford University Parks team and Professor Martin Maiden, Professor of Molecular Epidemiology and Head of Biology, for a free special event marking the launch of the new online Arboretum Explorer Map during National Tree Week.
The celebration will begin with a tree planting ceremony, followed by a guided walk led by Sam Prior, University Arboricultural Manager. Sam will introduce some of the most fascinating trees across University Parks.
The Arboretum Explorer Map is a publicly accessible online platform that lets visitors discover more about their favourite trees, including:
- Common and botanical names
- Size and age
- Planting date
- Ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration and water uptake
